About the Teacher
As a teenager, shortly after completing a class in physics, Śivakami began studying Reiki and Shamanic medicine under the guidance of a local Reiki Master and Shaman. By age seventeen Śivakami had become a Reiki Master and Shaman herself and was eager to explore the world of naturalistic medicine. After high school Śivakami went on to study at the California College of Ayurveda when she realized that something was missing from her healing technique. She claims, “It became apparent to me that Energy Work, such as Reiki and sound healing was just a temporary fix. Clients would come back to me months later with the same or similar issues. I realized that even though damaged energy was causing the physical illness something deeper was causing the energy damage and that if my clients carried on in the same thought patterns and lifestyles they would continue to become ill over and over again.”
Ayurveda came to be the perfect complement to Śivakami’s work as it allowed her to offer long term health to her clients via extremely individualized diet, meditation, yoga, and daily routine plans along with aromatherapy, color therapy and gem therapy. Śivakami was awarded the title Yoga Śiromani (Teacher of Yoga) from the Śivananda Ashram Yoga Farm and Vedanta Center. She topped her healing sundae with a cherry when she became a Massage Practitioner after finishing her studies at the California College of Ayurveda, adding Bodywork to her full spectrum approach to health care. She has combined her knowledge of Reiki, Shamanic medicine from traditions all over the world, Body Work and Ayurveda and Yoga to create her own form of whole being medicine. “I plan to continue my education always and strive to offer my clients the best health care I possibly can.”, Śivakami stated.
Śivakami spent much of 2015 and up through spring 2016 studying abroad, including a trip to the Himalayas where she studied Vedantic Meditations such as Vicharana and Neti Neti under her teacher Swami Kashi Muktanandji. She is now back in Southern California ready to continue her work offering Body Work, Ayurvedic medicine and teaching Yoga and Meditation.
